A chiropractic adjustment is done to correct a subluxation. The goal is to restore the proper position of a joint and its motion. Correcting a subluxation helps to remove imbalances and take pressure/ stress off the nervous system. Our nervous system is our communication highway so it is important that there are no obstructions. An adjustment can be done by hand or with an instrument.

What Is a CHIROPRACTIC subluxation?

Subluxation is a term used to describe the altered position of a joint which causes loss of function and decreased movement. Subluxations can occur in any joint in the body including the spine, skull and extremities. A subluxation can disrupt the neural pathways that send messages to the brain. What Is do you heare a pop, click or cracking noise duirng an adjusment?

During a manual adjustment your joint to its end range of motion. This can cause gas to be released from the joint capsule which can make an audible cracking noise. This is normal during an adjustment but not necessary. The goal of an adjustment is to restore proper motion and alignment to the joint.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

At your first appointment you and the doctor will sit down and discuss your health history, current condition and health goals. The doctor will also take you through a thorough exam to ensure that you are the right candidate for chiropractic care. Based on the discussion and exam, the doctor will make a treatment plan that aligns with your goals.

Are CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS safe?

There are risks with any medical procedure however, Chiropractic adjustments are relatively safe. Overall, severe complications are rare. At our clinic we do a thorough history and exam to ensure that our patients are safe to be adjusted.

Can I use my medical insurance?

Yes! We are in network with all major medical insurance companies. If you do not have medical insurance or do not want to bill to your medical insurance we have affordable options for you to pay out of pocket.

How many treatments will it take to improve my condition?

There is no magic number of adjustments. When you first come in we will do a thorough history and exam which will help the doctor get a better idea of what is going on. With that information the doctor will create a treatment plan that they think is effective and will help you in reaching your health goals.

I heard once you go to a chiropractor, you need to keep going. is this true?

Not if you don’t want to. If your goal is to get out of pain it is not necessary to continue coming in. There are benefits to coming in on a regular basis for chiropractic care if that is something you are interested in. There are studies that show there are benefits to continued, preventative chiropractic care. We are here to help get you to your goals and that looks different for each person.
